Lord Hanuman is the most followed Hindu God in India. The people around the world follow Lord Hanuman with great devotion. Hanuman Jayanti – The origin and its importance
Lord Hanuman and Lord Rama is closely connected. Lord Hanuman is an ardent follower or devotee of the Lord Rama. He is also the backbone of the Hindu holy book Ramayan. Therefore, the origin of Hanuman Jayanti goes back to the era and reign of Lord Rama.
There are no records as to when the Lord Hanuman was born. However, some superficial sources say that he was born approximately before 1 crore and 85 lakh years.
It is believed that he was born on Tuesday that fell on Chaitra Purnima for which the people perform puja for Lord Hanuman on Tuesday. His born Nakshatra is Chitra and Lagna is Mesha.

As we know and also mention in ancient astrology book, Hanuman Jayanti falls on Chaitra Purnima which has fallen on 11th of April 2017 this year. Some people do continue with abstinence, while some observe it with partial fast.

North India – The Lord Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated on the occasion of Chaitra Purnima in the North India.
Tamil Nadu – The Lord Hanuman Jayanti is called Hanumanth Jayanti in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu which is observed during Margashirsha Amavasya.
Karnataka – It is observed as Hanuman Vratam in the Indian state of Karnataka during the occasion of the Margashirsha Shukla Paksha Trayodashi.
Odisha – It is celebrated on the occasion of Maha Vishubha Sankranti that falls the first day of the Hindu solar calendar.
Andhra Pradesh – It is observed in Andhra Pradesh and Telengana differently. The Hanuman Jayanti is observed for 41 days that starts on Chaitra Purnima and ends on Vaisakha Krisha Paksha Dasami.
