Story surrounding the Ashvini Nakshatra Rulers

Ashwini Nakshatra is governed by the Ashvini Kumar or the luminescent twin sons of Surya or the Sun God. Legend has it that Surya was married Sanjana, the daughter of Vishwakarma.

However, Sanjana could not live with Surya due to extreme heat emanated by him so she spent times frequently away from him.

During one of her hiatus Sanjana created Chaya and asked her to take care of Surya till she returned. Surya however fell in love with Chaya and Sanjana became aware of this.

In this article, I am going to tell you some stories about astrology from history and modern times that are simply incredible.

#1 Muhurta for the Indian Independence (15th August 1947)

Very few of us are aware of the fact that the date August 15, 1947, was fixed according to auspicious Muhurta decided by a famous astrologer named Pt. Suryanarayan Vyas.

Pt. Surya Narayan Vyas was a popular astrologer during Indian independence. Dr. Rajendra Prasad the first president of India was eager to get an auspicious Muhurt for an invincible India and immortal democracy. Hence, he sought the advice of fixing the Muhurt from Pandit Surya Narayan Vyas.

Pandit Vyas Ji fixed the Muhurt on either 14^th or 15^th of August 1947. He decided the night of August 15^th will be highly auspicious and the independence and democracy of India will remain intact.

The parliament was cleaned on the night of the 15^th of August 1947. Pandit Suryanarayan has made many successful predictions such as the death of Lalbahadur Shastri and Sardar Ballav Bhai Patel.

The government of India has awarded him Padma Bhusan the 3^rd highest civilian honor for his contribution to astrology in 1958. The Indian post has issued a postal stamp as a commemorative in his name.

#2 Jackie Shroff father was an astrologer

Many of us are the fan of Jackie Shroff and his son Tiger shroff. However, very few of us know about the parental background of Jackie Shroff.

Jackie Shroff’s father was a Hindu Gujurati, while his mother was a Uyghur Muslim from Xinjiang. As per the interview with the Rajya Sabha TV in 2017, Jackie revealed the story as to how his parents came to Mumbai.

In fact, his grandmother Uyghur from Xinjiang reached Ladakh as a refugee due to a coup in her native land. His grandma was having 7 daughters. They kept on traveling to different places like Lahore, then Delhi and finally to Bombay.

His mother met his father in Bombay who was an astrologer. He used to give astrological advice to Dhirubhai Ambani and Nattulal Ambani.

His father Kakulal Hiralal Shroff met his mother when both were teenagers and they fall in love and tied the knot eventually.

#3 Mughal dynasty and their love towards astrology

The history of the Mughal dynasty has remained always amazing. No one can deny the ready wit of Birbal and mellifluous voice of Tansen.

During the Akbar’s reign in India, he believed both in conquest and culture. Hence, the Akbar’s reign is quite popular towards his support to Hindu people and Hinduism.

The Emperor Akbar’s ministry was full of intellectuals like Birbal, Tansen and Abdul Rahim Khan-I-Khana(popularly known as Rahim a poet)

They were not only ministers but also highly intellectual. Abdul Rahim Khan-I-Khana was the most popular army commander in Akbar’s army. He was not only known for his administrative feats but also his writings on astrology and poetry.

He was well versed in the Sanskrit language too. He has written two books on astrology in Sanskrit, Khetakautukam and Dwatrimshadyogavali.

#4 Nehru insisted to Indira to make Rajiv’s horoscope

There are many controversies about the family and cultures of the Nehru clan. Indira Gandhi got married to Feroz Khan. Nehru’s family also got converted to the Gandhi family.

Rajiv Gandhi got married to Sonia an Italian lady.

Sanjay Gandhi is known for his hooliganism.

However, very rare people know about Jawaharlal Nehru’s love for astrology. As a grandfather, it was natural to be happy. He was ecstatic after Rajiv’s birth to Indira.

#6 Muhurta for Emperor Saha Jahan’s marriage

We have already talked about Rahim a popular Sanskrit scholar and poet during the reign of Akbar. Now, you will come to know the love of astrology and astrologer during Shah Jahan Era.

I was just reading about the Mughal Empire in India on the internet. I stumbled upon the story of astrology that has played an important role in Shah Jahan’s life.

Shah Jahan had to wait five years to get married. The time was not good for him to tie the nuptial knot. Hence, the court astrologer ensured the auspicious date that will make the marriage happy and prosperous. That was an unusually long time for Shah Jahan to tie the knot.

Finally, Shah Jahan got married to Mamtaz Mahal on an auspicious date that was fixed by court astrologer.

#7 Sultan of Oman and Astrology

You might have known the Sultan of Oman who suffered from colon cancer. As I have said that the people from all over the world do believe in astrology. Qaboos bin Said al Said, the Sultan of Oman could not but invited 22 Hindu Pandits to perform Yagya for his recovery.

The Puja was played out in Muskat, the capital of Oman. The lead astrologer Chandrashekhar Swami flew to Oman with his team to perform the prayer. The 22 Pandits hail from Karnataka performed the Yagya on 9^th November 2017.

The family member also took part in the rituals. The Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said do believe that the Homa will help to recover him from health hazards.

#8 Smriti Irani made controversy by visiting astrologer Nathulal Vyas

Gharki Bahu Smriti Irani was a household name for her artistic feats during the release of “Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi” from 2000 till 2008.

Smriti Irani was extremely capable of making vicarious to anyone. Her pleasing personality and histrionic gesture tell all about her artistic gear.

However, her fate had kept something else in store for her. She Joined in politics and became an HRD minister in the Narendra Modi led Government.

She loves astrology and astrologers. A few years ago, there was a media hype that Smriti Irani visited astrologer and palmist Nathulal Vyas in Bhilwara, Rajasthan.

#11 Baba Ramdev and his hateful speech on astrology

No one denies the Ramdev Baba’s physical fitness and his yoga feats. His yoga feats have been enticing millions of hearts across the globe.

He has a great contribution to the Indian health industry by developing awareness among the people through Yoga.

Although Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed “International Yoga Day” in his speech at the UNGA, on 27 September 2014, Yoga was extremely popular due to Baba Ramdev.

Although he is a Yoga Guru, he does not have knowledge of astrology. He openly rubbishes the astrology and astrologers.

He talks against Mangal Dosh for which the people afraid of. He openly talks against astrologers and he thinks the astrologers are simply looters.

He also tells against the Puja of black rock as a Shani. Unfortunately, he does not have knowledge of astrology. He has never gone through the books on astrology and palmistry. It is also beyond his intellectual capacity.
